Aaron van Wirdum Alright folks, this is not a new Bitcoin Explained episode. This is more of an emergency broadcast. It turns out that the COLDCARD wallet, the hardware wallet produced by our sponsor Coinkite, has a critical vulnerability. This in particular concerns the MK3 and especially if it was used to generate a single-sig wallet, but other COLDCARD types and setups appear to be affected to different extents as well. At the time I'm recording this, much is still unclear, but it is clear that bitcoins are being stolen from these wallets by hackers that don't even need access to the device. So if you are using a COLDCARD to store your bitcoin, you should move them to another wallet or somewhere secure as soon as you can. Sjors and I will make a full episode on this issue later on, but for now we did feel the need to tell you about this. In the meantime, if you're looking for more information and updates about this issue, Coinkite.com or blog.coinkite.com is probably the best place to go. Thank you.
